Biographical information
Natalie Fox is an Assistant Professor at the Chair in Comparative Constitutional Law. She is a graduate of full-time PhD studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University of Cracow as well as full-time studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the same university. In 2021 she defended her doctoral dissertation titled 'British constitutional law and membership in the European Union' with distinction. Her supervisor was Professor dr. habil. Piotr Mikuli.
N. Fox is the speaker of national and international scientific conferences as well as a laureate of may scholarships. In 2020 she was awarded a 2nd degree prize by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University for acedemic teachers for her scientific achievements in the calendar year 2019. Her scientific interests include comparative constitutional law, e.g. analysis of the impact of European Union law on the constitutions of individual member states, institutional protection of human rights, political systems, in particular of the United Kingdom (the British constitution, the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty, Brexit), Germany and Austria.
Dr N. Fox is a regular member of the International Society of Public Law (ICON-S) and International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL).
Research projects
- From 2017 to 2019 Co-investigator of the project entitled 'Is the institution of Minister of Justice indispensable in the contemporary democratic state ruled by law?' finanaced by the National Science Centre (2016/21/B/HS5/00445). Principal Investigator: Professor dr. habil. P. Mikuli. As part of the project, Dr N. Fox deals in particular with the systemic position of the ministers of justice in the Republic of Austria and the Federal Republic of Germany.
- In 2018 N. Fox carried out the project 'The systemic position of judicial authorities within the divided authorities in the face of current challenges of constituional law' obtained with the departmental competition.
- In 2021 N. Fox with prof. P. Mikuli and G. Kuca carried out the project POB FutureSoc entitled 'Accountability and the Law'.
- In 2022 N. Fox carried out the project POB FutureSoc entitled 'Regaining Sovereignty? Brexit and the UK Parliament'.
- From 2019 to 2023 Principal Investigator of the project entitled 'British Constitutional Law and Membership in the European Union' financed by the National Science Centre 'Preludium 15' (2018/29/N/HS5/00685). The project analyses the impact of the EU law on the British constitution and the consequences of the UK leaving the EU (so-called Brexit).
- In 2023 N. Fox carried out the project POB FutureSoc entitled 'Political v. legal sovereignty in the context of the EU's influence on the UK's judicial activism'.
